Happy New Year from your friends at pixels.cool! As we enter our third year, we’ll continue to celebrate digital creativity as we create together. Here’s what we have planned…
JANUARY
We’ll introduce the software and apps we’ll be using for our digital themes (see below). Get yourself tooled up ready for our first creative theme in February!
FEBRUARY
State of the AI-Art. We’ll use Runway.ml to generate short video clips as we create a short promotional video for a conference. We’ll also use ChatGPT 4 to create a script and use Vegas Pro to add a convincing voiceover.
MARCH
We’ll introduce DIGITAL IMAGE EDITING with a series of explainers using free and paid software including GIMP, PAINTSHOP PRO and PHOTOSHOP. If you’ve ever wanted to crop, rotate and recolour your images this is a perfect starting point for you. This series is designed for beginners. You can also view the explainers as part of a short online course if you prefer and receive a cool completion certificate!
APRIL
This month we launch our BEGINNING VIDEO EDITING explainer series. Using VEGAS PRO and PREMIERE PRO we’ll create a video sequence, add fades, transitions, text titles and a soundtrack, and export mp4 video files. This series is suitable for beginners. You can also view the explainers as part of a short online course if you prefer and receive a cool completion certificate!
MAY
Power-up your WordPress site using AI Engine!
Don’t miss the boat! As AI Engine turns one year old, we’ll walk you through how to install it, link it to Open AI and use it to add interactive features to your site! This explainer series is suitable for AI beginners though you will need existing WordPress knowledge. You can also view the explainers as part of a short online course if you prefer and receive a cool completion certificate!
JUNE
Use WordPress and AI Engine to create a simple AI toolkit
This month we’ll use the AI FORMS functionality offered by AI Engine to create simple tools to help us in our everyday work. These will include a script generator, a video treatment creator and a lesson overview generator. You can tweak them to assist you with your own creative work!
JULY/AUGUST
Following the success of last year’s ‘Summer of AI love’ we may take another trip to the virtual beach – Or maybe not! Watch this space 🙂
SEPTEMBER
The world is 3D! In September we run our BEGINNING 3D EXPLAINER SERIES as we create objects in TINKERCAD and KENNEY SHAPE before importing them into a 3d UNITY scene. This series is suitable for beginners.
OCTOBER
Continuing the 3D theme, we’ll be BEGINNING 3D MODELLING USING UMODELER. This Unity asset lets you model directly inside Unity with no additional software needed. Let’s create a CANYONERO! NOVEMBER
BEGINNING MOTION GRAPHICS with Adobe After Effects. This series of explainers introduces the AE interface, how to add text, shapes and images to layers and animate them to create simple logos and titles. This series is suitable for beginners.
