WHAT IS ALTTEXT.AI?
Alttext.ai is a paid WordPress plug-in that uses AI to generate alternative text (‘alt text’) for images in the media library (one at a time or in a batch). It’s also available for other platforms. You can try it for free at alttext.ai. You can select between paid plans or purchase pay as you go credits if you prefer. Just in case the term ‘alt text’ is new to you, here’s what you need to know!

alttext.ai automates the important (but often neglected) task of creating high quality alt text for online images. This helps to improve accessibility and SEO. The plugin has improved a lot in recent versions and is currently our go-to tool for this workflow!

alttext.ai does what it says on the tin. Our only reservation is that it can be a pricey if your use-case doesn’t match one of the available paid plans. The pay-as-you-go credits option is great for trying it out but will be expensive if you have more than a couple of hundred images.
