Festive Puzzle #4: SNES
The Super FX chip was initially called ‘Super Mario FX’ and ‘MARIO’ (Mathematical, Argonaut, Rotation, & Input/Output). ‘Argonaut’ refers to it being developed by Argonaut games. The chip was one of the first in the home console space to deliver real-time 3D graphics, helping to make the leap from flat sprites to polygon-based rendering.
