AI Video News: Google launches Veo-3!

Are you ready for the future of video generation?

We interrupt our AI video editing series to bring you the launch of Google’s latest video generation model

Google has today launched Veo 3 for general use.

‘Veo 3 lets you add sound effects, ambient noise, and even dialogue to your creations – generating all audio natively.’

A person sits on top of an igloo made of ice blocks in a snowy landscape, shown on the Veo webpage.

We accessed the Veo 3 model at replicate.com and entered this text prompt:

‘A medium close-up of a female in her thirties in a small plane putting on her helmet for a parachute jump. She says in a british accent “Want to see the future of video generation?” Then an external shot from below the small aircraft. She falls out of the plane towards the camera and shouts “It’s already here!” Then a chase shot from above the female as she falls towards the earth above green fields. Do not add subtitles or text to the video.’

A person in a wingsuit is skydiving above fields, with a computer screen displaying a video and text description.

Here are the video clips generated on the first and second use of the exact same prompt:

Generation 2:

Veo 3 clip generation is not free (At least when accessed through a site such as replicate.com). At time of recording each clip above cost $6 to generate – Around $0.75 per second.
